Five Forces of Change

Changes in technology, threats, compliance requirements, the economy, and our clients’ business needs have been increasing complexity, costs, and security risks.

Changes in technology, threats, the economy and our client’s business needs and compliance requirements have increased risks, complexity, and costs. While every organization is different, in general these five forces of change are contributing to increased risks, complexity, and costs:

  • Business needs – require better collaboration among staff and with customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Technology – especially social networking if you have employees under the age of 30
  • Threats – have shifted to criminal financial gain: credit card and identity theft, funds transfer fraud, trade secrets theft
  • Compliance – New regulations including Red Flag Rules, Mass 201 CMR 17, ARRA/HITECH, HEOA
  • Economy – Recession requires we do more with less

At Cymbel we have been revising our security/compliance solution portfolio to develop a next-generation defense-in-depth architecture focused on applications, users, and data, which reduces security risks and reduces the costs of compliance and security operations.
